Artist's Comments HOORAY FOR SCANNERS!! I finally found a scanner I can use to upload my art, so please be patient with me and hopefully I can get everything rescanned soon!  Ok...on to the important stuff....  This is my entry for  art contest. The themes were "Radio Activity" or "Breaking away". I still have an idea for the "breaking away" theme that I may submit, but this was my first idea and I wanted to go with it. I'll keep this as a "rough draft" for now - I may update with a better drawing (I know I can do better!) if I have time. A radioactive moon attracting the attention of a radioactive wolf. I didn't want to do a dramatic change in the wolf's features with the radiation...although it makes for some really cool art, you tend to see that alot. I just wanted to add subtle hints in the eyes and glowing edges of his fur. The scanner lightened it a bit - some of the detail in the fur isn't showing like it should, but that's ok....at least I have one now!!! Anywho....Hope you all like it! It's done on heavyweight, medium texture paper with colored pencils. I apologise ahead of time for the poor quality of the background - I'm not that "practiced" with colored pencils (I prefer to work black and white), but I thought color would be necessary to make a "radioactive" picture pop. I also wanted the "focus" of the piece to be the wolf anyway, not necessarily the background. As always, any comments, critiques, and suggestions are more than welcome!  Oh, and best of luck to all the other artist who are submitting work! |
